REMINDER: As usual, for Novembers, the ACAC will be having the monthly meet a week early, to provide reasonable separation with the early December meeting (yeah, year-end busyness).
So gather at Wilmot Community Centre, on Gillespie Ave., behind the Shell station on Water Street East, on 19 November, for the 7-9 p.m. revelation of astronomical info and a preview of what going on, up there, during December, as well as a bit of cosmic camaraderie, of course.
For anyone who hasn’t received the meeting Words challenge, here is the Program Committee’s offering (with a teeny-weeney bit of editing):
1. What is Synchronous Rotation?
2. Explain Sideral and Synodic Planetary Rotation?
3. After what concept are the moons of Uranus named?
4. Where is the coldest place in the Solar System? (and, no, it is not Michael’s heart ;-] )
5. What is Alkalurops?
Also:
Monthly Overview
Constellation Taurus
The Seven Sisters open cluster
M79 globular cluster
Telescope filters
… and of course attendees view over the past month?
